Embroidered Fields

Inspired by aerial views of the Alberta landscape, these embroidered works focuses on the intersection between geometric and natural forms. The shapes and forms that arise from the influences of humans on the land are refracted and broken down, returning to the most basic lines.

These works took many hours, and many, many french knots. They are a fun exercise in combining simple shapes and lines with the landscape, and in playing with the dispersion of detail through the number of stitches and threads.
